Couple caught having sex in park by family collecting conkers

A FATHER was “appalled” after he caught a couple having sex in a park as he and his family were out collecting conkers.

The dad said the episode was particularly disturbing because his children were with him when he saw the shocking behaviour in Blythe Hill Fields, near Catford.

He reported the incident to the police and directed other families away from the area after he came across the pair on September 21.

Leroy Gooden, 45, of Catford, and Samantha Maher, 41, of Lambeth, were arrested and pleaded guilty to an act of outraging public decency.

The father who caught the pair said: “The reason I feel so strongly about this incident is because I was with my children.

“These people chose to have sex and expose themselves near a children’s playground.

“I found it appalling. My young children have since asked me and my wife about what they had seen.

“My daughter continues to ask questions about this incident. They shouldn’t have been exposed to such a thing.”

Bromley Magistrates Court heard how Gooden and Maher had sex in various different positions – for around 15 to 20 minutes – before they were caught.

The pair were handed a conditional discharge on Tuesday and ordered to pay prosecution costs and a victim surcharge.
