Liam Dunne dumped waste outside his ex's home with a bin lorry he stole from Deptford

Dad steals Deptford bin lorry and dumps waste outside ex’s home

A DRUNKEN dad stole a bin lorry from Deptford Recycling Centre and drove it to his ex-partner’s house – before dumping a skip full of waste outside her home.

Stacey Dunne could be heard screaming on Ring doorbell footage as she watched the father of her kids driving the two-tonne vehicle into her road.

She then shouted “He is torturing me!” as her ex Liam Dunne lowered the waste skip directly onto the road outside her home, blocking it completely.

Dunne has now been sentenced following two days of mayhem in which he nicked the waste cart before assaulting several family members. He then refused to stop for police before finally being arrested in Lewisham.

Bromley Magistrates Court heard that Dunne, 41, and his ex split up in December 2024.

Ms Dunne began receiving multiple phone calls from him on November 21, 2025.

Later that evening, prosecutor Tharshani Siva said that the defendant turned up at Ms Dunne’s address unannounced saying he had money for her and their kids.

She took the cash in the hope he would go away, but at 9.30pm he returned in the stolen bin lorry.

Ms Siva said: “He told Ms Dunne she had two minutes to come outside or he would drop the container from the lorry.

“He then blocked the address.”

The court was shown shocking Ring doorbell footage showing Dunne reversing the enormous waste truck down Ms Dunne’s road in Dartford, Kent.

On it, she screams as he veers towards a parked car.

“There’s a car, Liam!” she shouts, before adding: “He is just torturing me constantly. He’s outside my house, across the driveway. The neighbours will call the Old Bill.”

After dumping the skip from the back of the lorry, he drove off before returning half an hour later to pick it up.

Ms Dunne then spent part of the next day with her ex’s brother Stephen Dunne and his partner, Katie Southion, in Bromley, south London.

But that evening Dunne turned up and demanded she left the property, leading to a fracas.

“He then assaulted his brother and his brother’s partner,” Ms Siva added.

Dunne was tracked down still driving the waste truck – which he had stolen from a Deptford-based company he had been working for – but he failed to stop and was finally apprehended in Queens Road, Lewisham.

The vehicle only came to a halt because the defendant attempted a u-turn, the prosecutor added.

He was found to have 64mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, making him almost double the drink drive limit, and a small amount of cocaine was also found on him.

Dunne was charged with assault, the stalking of Stacey Dunne, taking a motor vehicle without consent, failing to stop, driving under the influence and possession of cocaine.

He was also charged with having no licence when it transpired his had been revoked due to medical reasons.

Dunne pleaded guilty to some of the charges and was found guilty of the others at a trial in November.

Victim Miss Southion said in a personal impact statement: “He has made me feel violated in my own home. Had he not been arrested I’m 100% certain he would have done it again.”

Shevani Manjdadria, defending, said Dunne had spent two months in custody following his arrest and had problems with alcohol.

“He’s quite ashamed it took a court appearance to realise the extent of his drink problem,” she told the court.

District Judge Stephen Leake said the taking of the bin lorry was “unusual” and sentenced Dunne to a 12-month community order with a four-month alcohol treatment requirement.

He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £650, compensation for a broken door of £523.20 and was disqualified from driving for three years.

Judge Leake said: “You took a bin lorry without the permission of the company that owned it.

“Had you lost control of that vehicle the consequences could have been significant.

“This case is unusual and perhaps more serious than other cases.

“You are someone who needs the intervention of the probation services for a longer period.”
