Terrifying moment stalker threatens to set ex-wife’s holiday home on fire
THIS is the terrifying moment a stalker from Lewisham threatened to burn down his ex-wife’s holiday home as part of a four-year ‘campaign of terror’ against her.
Dressed in military fatigues, Sylwester Bachurski, 47, filmed himself pouring an unknown liquid over the decking at the pair’s lodge in Poland while repeatedly ranting ‘I will set it on fire’.
It was just one of many threatening messages Bachurski, of Addington Grove, Lewisham, sent to his former partner after their divorce in 2021.
He also told her to ‘be careful on the roads as apparently Russian terrorists are in action’ – and followed her and her new partner as they left their home.
In one of the most terrifying incidents, he was caught on camera driving directly at his ex-wife’s car – before swerving away from her at the last second.

Another dashcam video shows him targeting his ex-wife’s new partner, driving in front of his car and making a ‘shooting gun’ gesture with his hand.
A source said: “Bachurski conducted a campaign of terror against his ex-wife for four years after their divorce.
“When they split he told her he would ensure she was never happy for the rest of her life.
“In one incident he threatened to burn down their holiday home and filmed himself pouring liquid over the decking of the property, implying it was a fuel.
“His repeated attempts to instil fear in his ex-wife and her new partner left them feeling vulnerable and terrified to leave their home.”

In her victim impact statement, Bachurski’s ex-wife said: “Whenever I see him, my body starts shaking uncontrollably, and I remain in a state of flight or flight.
“I refrained from having any social life for one-and-a-half years after I separated from him as every attempt to go out for a meal or drink resulted in him lurking around the place, taking photos of me, intimidating me, and later sending these photos and recordings to our son.
“Up until the day he was arrested, every day was filled with the fear of what Sylwester Bachurski might do next.”
During his sentencing at Woolwich Crown Court this month, Recorder Samantha Broadfoot KC revealed that Bachurski’s campaign was brought to an end when he threatened to kill his wife during a mental health assessment with the NHS.
She said: “You told police you were very unhappy about the (childcare) contact arrangements and child maintenance payments you have been required to make.
“I understand that you feel aggrieved. There are things you want to say in respect to childcare arrangements. But there are remedies for this. You can contact the family court to persuade them to change whatever arrangements are unsuitable.
“Instead you have caused your ex-wife distress and made her feel unsafe in her own home. I know you accept that conduct is unacceptable.”
Bachurski, originally from Poland, pleaded guilty to stalking and repeatedly breaching a non-molestation order.
He was jailed for 15 months.
